JSSATEB research strength lies in the strength of the Faculty, Research Scholars and Students in
addition to extensive modern facilities and collaboration with leading academic and research
organizations. JSSATEB encourages faculty and student to engage in research activities thereby
promoting research culture.
The institution has research centers in every departments recognized by Visvesvaraya
Technological University (VTU), Belagavi offering PhD and M.Sc. (Engg) by research.

Facility in Research Centre
The following facilities are extended by the institution:
- Faculty members are encouraged to involve UG/PG students’ research projects.
- Research Centre of the department has a research lab.
- Research is monitored by the concerned research guide and the DC Committee.
There shall be provision for the following categories of candidates for admission to Ph.D.
- Full-Time: Candidates who shall pursue Ph.D. research on full time basis
- Part-Time: In-service candidates having a minimum professional experience of one year
after his/her UG Degree from among faculty members working in any Engineering
College / Polytechnic / University / Deemed to be University (recognized / accredited by
appropriate bodies in India) or research staff of public / private organizations, are eligible
to pursue Ph.D. on a part time basis.(Refer VTU guidelines for more details)
Eligibility:
The candidates shall possess a Master’s Degree in Engineering / Technology / Science or
equivalent from the VTU or any other University recognized by it and with a marks/minimum
