Sports

The department of Physical Education and Sports was established in 1998. Apart from providing excellent technical knowledge to the students, JSSATE encourages co-curricular activities by means of sports and culture to provide the development of students physically, mentally, etc and JSSATE also encourages the students to participate in various sports events conducted by VTU and other universities.

JSSATE has one of the best cricket stadium in association with KSCA for the use of students.

Apart from the cricket stadium, JSSATE also has facilities for

  • Basketball,
  • Lawn Tennis,
  • Volleyball,
  • Football

And several indoor activities like Table Tennis, Chess, Carom, Judo, etc.

Swimming
  1. Jayasimha S has represented VTU in Swimming (Men) in the Inter University All India Competitions held at VTU Belgaum for the year 2004-2005.
  2. Bipin Chandra has secured Second in 200 Free Style, 100 Free Style, 100 Butterfly, 1500 Free Style in the Inter Collegiate Tournament for the year 2005-2006.
  3. Bipin Chandra has secured First in 200mtr IM, 200mtr Back Stroke, 400mtr IM, 100mtr Back Stroke in the Inter Collegiate Tournament for the year 2005-2006.
  4. Mahima Malli has represented VTU in Swimming (women) in the Inter University All India Competition held at VTU Belgaum for the year 2004-2005.
  5. Sindhu K Venkat, Mahima Malli, Sahana, Namratha Shetty secured First in 4x100mtr Free Style relay in the Inter Collegiate Tournament for the year 2005-2006.
  6. Krishna M Naik has secured First place in 1mtr, 3mtr Spring Board and High Board Diving in the Inter Collegiate Tournament for the year 2009-2010.
  7. Krishna M Naik represented VTU, Belgaum in the All India Inter University Diving (Men) Tournament held at Amritsar for the year 2009-2010 and secured Second place in 3mtr Spring Board.
Table Tennis
  1. Abhigna P has represented VTU Belgaum in Table Tennis in the Inter University South Zone for the year 2005-2006.
  2. Sanketh K B, Bharath Kumar B C, Shravan Kumar, Ravi Kumar, Rangavittala and Prajwal N has secured Runner’s up place in the Inter Collegiate Bangalore South Zone Table Tennis Tournament for the year 2014-2015.
  3. Sanketh K B, Bharath Kumar B C, Shravan Kumar, Ravi Kumar, Rangavittala and Prajwal N has secured Runner’s up place in the Inter Collegiate Inter Zone Table Tennis Tournament for the year 2014-2015.
  4. Priyanka K, Vennala Jayaram, Deeksha Narayana has secured Runner’s up place in the Inter Collegiate Bangalore South Zone Table Tennis Tournament (Women) for the year 2014-2015.
  5. Priyanka K, Deeksha Narayana, Shusnata Chowdhary, Setturu Vasudha Krishna, Aishwarya Narayan has secured First place in the Inter Collegiate Bangalore South Zone Table Tennis Tournament (Women) for the year 2015-2016
Boxing
  1. Vivekananda A B has represented VTU Belgaum in Boxing in the Inter University Competition held at BHU Varanasi for the year 2009-2010.
Judo
  1. Roshan Singh has secured Runner’s up place in Judo (81 kg) in the Inter Collegiate Inter Zone Tournament held at VDRIT, haliyal for the year 2014-2015.
  2. Roshan Singh has secured Runner’s up place in Judo (81kg) Inter Collegiate Inter Zone sports competition held at MVJCE, Bengaluru for the year 2012-2013.
Taekwondo
  1. Sanketh K B has awarded Silver Medal in Senior Male under 63 kg weight category in the championships for the year 2013.
  2. Roshan Singh has secured Third place in VTU Single Zone Inter Collegiate Taekwondo competition for the year 2015.
Tennis
  1. Deepak B Desai has represented VTU Belgaum in All India Inter University Tennis (Men) held at SRM University, Chennai for the year 2015-2016.
Athletics
  1. Apeksha Satish Pawar has participated in VTU’s 16th Inter Collegiate Athletic Meet held at JNNCE, shimoga and secured First place in 100mtr event for the year 2013-2014.
  2. Apeksha Satish Pawar has participated in VTU’s 15th Inter Collegiate Athletic Meet held at SIT, Tumkur and secured First place in 100mtr, 200mtr for the year 2012-2013.
  3. Supritha Raj has participated in 12th VTU Inter Collegiate Athletic Meet held at SDMCET, Dharwad and secured Second place in Triple Jump Women event (9.64 mtrs) for the year 2009-2010.
  4. Supritha Raj has participated in 12th VTU Inter Collegiate Athletic Meet held at SDMCET, Dharwad and secured Second place in Shotput Women event (8.42 mtrs) for the year 2009-2010.
  5. Shwetha J participated in JSS Inter University Sports Meet and secured Second place in Long Jump for the year 2016-2017.
  6. Harron Rashid has participated in VTU Inter Collegiate Athletic Meet held at RITM, Bengaluru and secured Third place in Jevelene Throw for the year 2008-2009.
Archery
  1. Arvind Santhosh Pvg has secured Second place in 30mtr Indian Round in the Inter Collegiate Tournament held at Sir MVIT, Bengaluru for the year 2009-2010.
  2. Arvind Santhosh Pvg has secured Third place in Overall Indian Round in the Inter Collegiate Tournament held at Sir MVIT, Bengaluru for the year 2009-2010.
