JSS Advanced Jewellery Design Technology Centre
JSS Advanced Jewellery Design Technology Centre situated at JSS ATE Campus, Bengaluru was setup by JSSMVP in the year 2004 jointly with the Government of Karnataka under the Central Govt’s ASIDE Scheme. The institute is first of its kind in the entire southern India imparting training in Jewellery Designing and Manufacturing to the Goldsmiths, Artisans and trading community in gems and jewellery sector.
Objective of the Centre:
The main objective is to develop the centre as a knowledge base and resource centre for jewellery manufacturing industry to provide the latest development in the field of jewellery designing and manufacturing, a library of jewellery design to help Exporters, customisation of software, consultancy regarding different production techniques of producing the jewellery through technologies such as Laser, Electro forming, Rapid prototyping etc., Developing training modules and conducting training programs for Artisans and Craft persons, and development of skilled manpower to make them more employable and self employed and to meet the modern challenges in the area of jewellery designing and manufacturing for the proposed jewellery park by the Government of Karnataka are some of the main objective.
Facilities at the centre:
The Centre has ambient space ideally located and easily accessible from Bengaluru city Railway station and City central bus stand and it is well equipped with the state of the art equipments and facilities to train the candidates in various areas of jewellery designing and manufacturing. The centre has also setup a Rapid prototype facility, which will help the jewellery industry to convert the new designs into production within a very short period at nominal charges. The centre has also an incubation Centre for the new Entrepreneurs to start the business with the least investment to run the business till they establish regular unit.
Training of Physically Differently Abled (Disabled):
The Centre has commenced training of Physically Differently Abled (Disabled) in the year 2010, especially those who are physically fit to perform all duties but not able to speak and hear, in Computer Aided Designing using Rhinoceros and Corel Draw softwares and after completion of training they are extended in house working facility on payment so as to enable them to join the main stream of life and continue to earn their livelihood.
