Anveshan – 2016 By Dept. of CSE

The department of computer science and engineering started the student forum “ANVESHAN” on 4.11.2016. The objective of the forum is to provide a common platform for the students to exchange ideas and information on curriculum, employment, higher educational opportunities and emerging trends in technology. The name “ANVESHAN” stands for Explore, Discover and Disquisition. Hence the name complements the objective of the forum.  Inauguration of the forum started at 10 AM with an invocation song and lighting of the lamp. Head of the department, CSE welcomed all the guests to the event. Dr.Lingaraju, Professor, MSRIT, Bangalore was the chief guest and Mr.Kaushik.H.A, founder of BooksBeka Online Solutions Private Limited was the guest of honour. In his keynote address, Dr.Lingaraju elaborated the importance of the overall development of students. He urged students to take up projects which have impact on the society. Mr.Kaushik.H.A, in his speech narrated his journey as an entrepreneur and urged the students to follow their dreams. Principal delivered the presidential address and appreciated the initiative. The event ended with an vote of thanks to all the attendees by the student coordinator.

A technical talk on “Brain computing” was delivered by Dr.Lingaraju. He threw light on brain–computer interface, a direct communication pathway between an enhanced or wired brain and an external device. He explained mapping, assisting, augmenting, or repairing human cognitive or sensory-motor functions. He gave an insight into various applications and research trends in the area of brain computing.

A hands-on session on “Live web development” was hosted under Anveshan 2016 by NIIT, Vijayanagar, Bangalore. The program helped students to understand the basic of web development technologies. Students were also given a sample code for enhancements and the same was submitted for evaluation. Total of 32 students participated in this event.

The following events were also conducted on 04/11/2016 as a part of ANVESHAN-2016. Around

250 students participated in the events.
