“Creating a thrust for research with societal concern by the way of clear understanding the fundamentals of science and applying it to the real-time situations”
M1: To mould a budding engineer with the finer aspects of the basics of Physics.
M2: To explore the opportunities to innovate in contributing to the advancement of Science and technology.
The Department is Headed by Dr. Nityanand Choudhary, HOD
Department of Physics is well established department in JSSATE, Bangalore with state of art laboratory infrastructure and dedicated faculty and staff to fulfill dream of budding engineers. The department caters the intake of nearly 320 students in each semester. The department is focused to the holistic development of the students and encourages taking innovative assignment within the given time frame. This way student are mingled with peers and come out with solution of problems in unique way. The department also encourages faculty members to actively participate in research and development work by way of publication, presentation of their work in national and international conference and keep themselves updated.
From the Desk of HOD
The Department of Physics came into existence along with the establishment of the institution in the year 1997. The department has a team of well qualified, dedicated faculty and supporting staff members. Faculty members have acquired higher qualification like M Phil, Ph D from reputed universities. All faculty members are actively associated with research and development work and have presented, published their research papers in national/international symposia and peer reviewed journals. Some of the faculties are members of the BOE of autonomous colleges and universities, life members of the various professional bodies like ISTE, etc.
The average teaching experience of faculty members is more than 15 years. In both theory and practical classes, students are given individual attention. Faculty members increase healthy interaction with students in both academic and personal matters, which leads to excellent academic performance of the students.
The average results of the department in the theory and practical university examinations are above 90 % & 95% respectively in both semesters. The department has a well equipped Physics Laboratory and very good infrastructure with a total plinth area of the lab, including staff room is around 180 Sq. meters. Department gives special focus to the topic related to respective engineering branch students while delivering the lecture and preparing lecture plan. Long term goal of the department is to establish Research and Development Lab in the department and short term goal is to achieve excellent result of B.E I year by imparting quality education. Department is vigorously working towards achieving long and short term goals.
