The JSSATE SAE India collegiate club was inaugurated on 21st aug 2014. The opening remarks were given by Dr. D R Swamy, HOD, IEM. The plan of the activities of the club was given by Mr. Prashanth dwivedi, student chairperson. the inaugural address was given by Mr. K P Murthy, vice chair, student activities, SAE India, Bangalore section. Mr. Joshi, business development manager, SAE Bangalore spoke about the competitions. Dr. B T Nijaguna, founder principal addressed the gathering. The presidential address was given by Dr. Mrityunjaya v latte, principal. a technical talk on “power train” was given by Mr. Girish Ramaswamy, general manager, continental. Another technical talk on “vehicle dynamics” was given by Mr Kumar, senior manager, continental. a sum of rs.4,972/- was spent towards membership fees.

Details of SUPRA SAEINDIA 2015: A team of 25 students took part in the virtual round of SUPRA SAEINDIA 2015 held at Veltech University, Chennai from 08-01-2015 to 10-01-2015 under the captaincy of Shreyas R, 5th sem (IEM). A sum of Rs.16,854/- was spent towards registration fees.
Details of BAJA SAEINDIA 2015: A team of 25 students took part in the virtual round of BAJA SAEINDIA 2016 held at Chitkara University, Chandigarh from 10-07-2015 to 11-07-2015 under the captaincy of Abhishek Chaturvedi, 6th sem (Mechanical). A sum of Rs.10,000/- was spent towards expenses of faculty advisor.
Details of summer training program on ATV (all terrain vehicle) / GO KART designing & development
The “Summer Training Program on ATV / Go kart Designing & Development” was conducted by “Elite Techno Group” in association with the Department of IEM from 16th to 31st July 2015. The number of students who took part was 28 for ATV workshop and 54 for GO KART workshop. The inauguration was held on 16th July 2015 and it was presided over by Dr. Mrityunjaya V Latte, Principal, JSSATE in the presence of Dr. D. R. Swamy, Senior Faculty Advisor, Dr. B. P. Mahesh, HOD-IN CHARGE, faculty and staff. Students from all over India took part in the workshop.
The faculty members who conducted the training were:

- Mr. Rahul Ranjan and
- Mr. Pushpender
The testing of ATV was done on 29th July and a demonstration was conducted on 4th Aug 2015. A sum of Rs.15,000/- was earned from GO KART contribution.
Details of SUPRA SAE INDIA 2016: A team of 25 students registered for SUPRA SAEINDIA 2016 under the captaincy of Haarish Prashanth, 6th semester BE (Mechanical). The team was divided into five sub-groups:
- Chassis and Design
- Engine and Powertrain
- Suspension and Steering
- Brakes and Uprights
- Marketing and Management
The marketing team simultaneously analyzed the potential sponsors. The team approached Rapido, Race tech Engineering, Prigma Edu tech, Brakes India Limited, Vivo, Byju’s, Oppo, Dell, Komatsu, CarDekho.com and Ma Properties. The team secured a sponsorship of Rs.50,000/-
The SUPRA SAEINDIA-2016 Second Stage registration was done on 5th February, 2016 with a payment of Rs.40,075/-.
The team pooled in money for the two stages of registration, tools and some parts of the car. The engine being used for the car had to repaired and serviced. The chassis material AISI 1018 was bought from Chandigarh. The team has spent a total of Rs.1,73,450/- till date.
A team of 7 students (team name KNIGHT HAWKS) from IEM and Mechanical engg. took part in MANOVEGAM 2017, under the guidance of Mr Prabhushankar M R, Faculty Advisor, JSSATE SAEINDIA COLLEGIATE CLUB, Dr Vijay Kumar M, Associate Professor and Head, Dept. of IEM and Dr D R Swamy, Chief coordinator, Centre for Inter-Disciplinary research (CIR).

The virtual round was held on 11th March 2017. The team stood 5th among 29 teams securing a score of 85.75. The design was approved by judges from various industries like Airbus, Rolls Royce, GE Aerospace and Safran engg services.
The team members fabricated a remote controlled regular GLOW ENGINE AIRCRAFT. The Size of the aircraft was 90 in X 25 in X 30 in.
The final flight round event was held in SIT, Tumkur on 14th and 15th April 2017. The team won a cash prize of Rs 10,000 for the BEST DESIGN REPORT.
